A reason to blog...
Kartikeya's blog A Cricketing View has been nominated for the Indibloggies in the Best Sports IndiBlog category. If you haven't yet been there, do have a read - and vote if you like it.
It is ironic that this blog remains neglected by its author when he was infact of some help (and if he may ever so shamelessly add, a minor inspiration :)) in setting up Cricketing View in the first place! So, just as an excuse to avoid work on a brilliant cloudy day in the desert that begs everything apart from working in a dull cubicle, I try to lay down here some necessary conditions that keep a blog going:

So, just as an excuse to avoid work on a brilliant cloudy day in the desert that begs everything apart from working in a dull cubicle, I try to lay down here some necessary conditions that keep a blog going:
- You need a theme blog so you have something to write (rather than "anything", which often translates to "nothing")
- Or have the time, patience, and will to read around enough so that you can have a justifiable opinion about things ranging from Anna Nicole Smith's mysterious death to Iran's nuclear ambitions.
- Or post arbitrary brain dumps

Well then invent a theme, or start dumping! (sounds downright nasty :P)
I know, but brain dumps have an "interestingness" span of about 30 mins after which the post start looking absurd :)
I am thinking of experimenting with a Marathi blog for a while and see what happens!
how about "desire to write" as a sufficient condition ;-) ?
@Om
No, the desire to write is only the necessary condition. Quite often just a desire doesn't convert into a blog post :)
